Termites attack in Magobading(MECKLENGBURG A)

Magobading village in Limpopo, has been attacked by ant like insects called termites. The said insects are destroying roofs of two houses, eating out woods which balance the zinc.
Magobadingg community which is recovering from relocation impact as result of Anglo platinum( Twickenham Mine) operations, is now again in distress.

Apparently this started on the 12th of December 2009 after the poor house owners were surprised to see a ceilings falls off, subsequently the huge amount of wet soil came down from the roofs. It is also witnessed that the woods were also eaten up by this insects.
" I feel terrible about this problem and afraid of living under this roof anymore and we were just fortunate when it occurs because it was during the day and everyone was outside" said fearful Mohube Thobejane.

During my visit I was surprised to see such unusual and strange thing . It is evident that the people are living in threatening environment. The resident has claimed that the soil was not properly treated before the houses were build.Though the residents claimed that they have contacted Anglo's Community Engagement Development Manager and the Senior Projects Manager, the response to the took long to reach us. " they verbally promised us the alternative apartments urgently, and that they will have to remove the whole roof and put another one" said Mrs Moshiane Sekiti, an affected owner.

Resident has fears that Anglo is running away from their responsibilities. The question which sit with the community is, is it a solution to put roof ? Are termites not going to eat up the roof again as they seem to be the real source?
